Steak
- 400g steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
Broccoli
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tbsp butter
- Salt to taste
Base (Choose One)
- 2 cups cooked rice
- or roasted potatoes
- or mashed potatoes
Cheese Sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 cups milk
- 150g cheddar cheese (shredded)
- Salt and pepper
- Optional: pinch of chili flakes
Instructions
1. Cook the Steak
- Season steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear steak 3–5 minutes per side (depending on thickness).
- Let rest, then slice into strips.
2. Cook the Broccoli
- Steam or sauté broccoli until tender but still bright green.
- Toss with butter and a pinch of salt.
3. Make the Cheese Sauce
- Melt butter in a saucepan.
- Whisk in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Slowly add milk, whisking continuously.
- Cook until thickened.
- Stir in cheese until melted and smooth.
- Season to taste.
4. Assemble the Bowl
- Add your base (rice or potatoes) to a bowl.
- Top with sliced steak and broccoli.
- Drizzle generously with cheese sauce.
