Sizzling Chinese Pepper Steak with Onions.

Step 1: Heat the Pan

Place a wok or large skillet over medium-high to high heat. Allow it to become very hot before adding oil. High heat is essential for achieving the authentic sizzling flavor.

Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.


Step 2: Sear the Beef

Add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes without stirring too much so the meat develops a flavorful brown crust.

Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the beef is nearly cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.

Avoid overcrowding the pan because too much moisture will steam the meat instead of searing it.


Step 3: Cook the Vegetables

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the skillet.

Toss in the onions, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger. Stir-fry over medium-high heat for about 4 to 5 minutes.

The vegetables should remain slightly crisp while becoming lightly charred around the edges. This adds incredible flavor and texture to the dish.


Step 4: Combine Everything

Return the beef to the pan with the vegetables.

Give the sauce another quick whisk and pour it into the skillet. Stir continuously as the sauce begins to bubble and thicken.

Cook for 2 to 3 more minutes until the beef is fully coated and the sauce becomes glossy and rich.

Turn off the heat immediately once the sauce thickens to avoid overcooking the steak.


Serving Suggestions

Serve the sizzling pepper steak immediately while hot. Spoon it generously over steamed jasmine rice or noodles.

Garnish with sesame seeds and freshly chopped green onions for added flavor and presentation.
