  • Cut the mozzarella block into 3-inch long, ½-inch thick sticks.

  • If using string cheese, simply cut each piece in half.

  • Place the sticks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Step 2: Set Up Your Breading Stations

Prepare three shallow bowls:

  1. Bowl 1: Add the flour.

  2. Bowl 2: Whisk eggs and milk together.

  3. Bowl 3: Mix breadcrumbs with Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Bread the Mozzarella Sticks

  • Dip each stick into the flour, shaking off excess.

  • Next, dip into the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off.

  • Then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly so it adheres.

  • Double dip for best results: repeat the egg and breadcrumb step again for a thicker crust.

Place the fully coated sticks back onto the baking sheet.

Step 4: Freeze (Do Not Skip This!)

  • Freeze the breaded sticks for at least 1 hour, ideally 2 hours.

  • This step prevents the cheese from melting too quickly while frying.

Step 5: Cook the Mozzarella Sticks

 Fried Method (Restaurant-style)

  1. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet to 175°C (350°F).

  2. Fry a few mozzarella sticks at a time for 1½ to 2 minutes, turning once, until golden brown.

  3. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Air Fryer Method (Healthier)

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Lightly spray the mozzarella sticks with oil.

  3. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through until crispy.

Baked Method (Less oil, still crunchy)

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. Place sticks on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  3. Spray generously with cooking oil.

  4. Bake for 9–11 minutes, flipping once.
