Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or cooking spray (for spraying)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

For the Sesame Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch (for thickening)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon water (to dissolve cornstarch)
