The very first step is to get your blender or food processor ready and make sure it is clean and dry before you start. Take your two cups of frozen strawberries out of the freezer and put them directly into the blender jar. If the strawberries are very large you might want to let them sit on the counter for just two minutes so they are slightly easier for the blades to catch. Next you will add your protein powder or your thick greek yogurt right on top of the frozen fruit.
Now you can add two tablespoons of your liquid such as almond milk or plain water to the mixture to help the blending process begin. Put the lid on very tightly and start the blender on a low speed to break up the big chunks of fruit. You might hear some loud noises at first but that is normal because the berries are very hard when they are frozen. Use a long spoon or a tamper to push the ingredients down toward the blades if they get stuck but always turn the blender off before you do this for safety.
Continue to blend and slowly increase the speed while adding another tablespoon of liquid only if the mixture is too thick to move. You want to be very careful not to add too much liquid because then it will turn into a thin smoothie instead of a thick soft serve. Keep blending for about one or two minutes until the color is a beautiful solid pink and the texture looks completely smooth without any lumps of fruit left behind. You will see the mixture start to swirl into a thick vortex which means it is almost ready to eat.

Once the soft serve is smooth and looks like thick whipped cream stop the blender and taste a tiny bit to see if you like it. If it is perfect you should scoop it out immediately into a cold bowl because it will start to melt quickly. You can eat it just like this or you can put it in the freezer for ten minutes if you want it to be even firmer and more like traditional ice cream. Grab a big spoon and enjoy your fresh healthy creation right away while it is at its best texture.
