3-Ingredient Ginger Lemon Water

First, boil about 2 cups of water in a kettle or pot. The water should be hot so it can properly infuse the ginger and lemon flavors.

Step 2: Prepare the Lemon

Wash the lemon properly. Cut the lemon into two halves. Squeeze the juice into two mugs. After squeezing, do not throw away the lemon halves. Put the squeezed lemon pieces into the mugs as well because they will add more flavor to the drink.

Step 3: Prepare the Ginger

Wash the ginger and slice it into thin slices. You can peel the ginger if you want, but it is not necessary. Add the sliced ginger into the mugs.

Step 4: Add Turmeric and Spices

Add a small dash of ground turmeric into each mug.
If you like a little spicy flavor, you can add:

  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper

Black pepper is especially good because it helps the body absorb turmeric better.

Step 5: Add Hot Water

Pour the boiling water into the mugs over the lemon, ginger, and spices.

Step 6: Let It Infuse

Let the drink sit for about 3–5 minutes so the ginger and lemon can release their flavor into the water.

Step 7: Add Sweetener (Optional)

If you like your drink a little sweet, add:

  • Honey
  • Maple syrup

Stir well and enjoy warm.
