First you need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit so it is nice and hot by the time your cookie dough is ready to go inside.
-
Take a large baking sheet and line it with a piece of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat so the cookies do not stick to the surface.
-
Peel your two ripe bananas and place them into a large mixing bowl then use a sturdy fork or a potato masher to crush them.
-
Keep mashing the bananas until they turn into a smooth liquid consistency with as few lumps as possible because this acts as the glue for your cookies.
-
Measure out your half cup of natural nut butter and add it into the bowl with the mashed bananas then stir them together until they are fully combined.
-
Pour in your one cup of oats and use a big spoon to fold everything together until every single oat is coated in the banana and nut butter mixture.
-
Let the dough sit for about five minutes because this allows the oats to soak up some of the moisture which makes the cookies hold together much better.
-
Use a tablespoon or a small cookie scoop to drop rounded mounds of the dough onto your prepared baking sheet.
-
These cookies do not spread out or grow while they bake so you should use the back of a spoon to gently press them down into a flat cookie shape.
-
Place the baking sheet in the center rack of your oven and bake them for about twelve to fifteen minutes or until the edges look slightly brown.
-
Remove the tray from the oven and let the cookies sit on the hot pan for at least five minutes to firm up before you try to move them.
-
Transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely or enjoy one while it is still warm and gooey for a real treat.
