Next came the layer of cottage cheese. I opted for a full-fat version to ensure a rich, creamy texture. Using a spoon, I generously spread the cold cottage cheese over each pork chop, making sure they were completely covered. The idea was that the cheese would act as both a flavor enhancer and a protective layer, keeping the pork moist during the baking process.
As I spread the cheese, I pondered how it would react to the heat. Would it melt into a gooey sauce, or would it create a crust-like layer on top of the meat? Only time would tell.
5. Layer Three: Arranging Sliced Canned Peaches On Top

Finally, it was time to add the canned peaches. After draining them slightly, I arranged the slices neatly on top of the cottage cheese-covered pork chops. Each chop received a generous portion of peaches, their bright color contrasting beautifully with the white cheese.
In addition to the fruit, I decided to drizzle a bit of the reserved peach syrup over the entire dish. This was intended to enhance the sweetness and provide a glaze-like finish once baked. With the layers complete, the dish was ready for the oven.
6. Into The Oven: Time, Temperature, And First Impressions
With the oven preheated to 375°F, I carefully placed the baking dish on the middle rack. The estimated baking time was 50 minutes, enough to cook the pork completely and allow the flavors to meld.
As the dish began to bake, I checked periodically through the oven window. The cottage cheese began to bubble slightly, while the peaches glistened and the aroma of sweet and savory wafted through the kitchen. I was eager to see how the transformation would unfold.
7. What 50 Minutes Did To The Pork Chops Themselves
After 50 minutes in the oven, I removed the dish and was pleased to see that the pork chops were cooked through, their juices mingling with the melted cheese and peach syrup. The meat appeared tender, having absorbed the flavors of the toppings and the slight caramelization of the peaches.
Upon slicing into one of the chops, I was relieved to find it juicy and perfectly cooked. The cheese and syrup had seeped into the meat, imparting a subtly sweet and creamy flavor that was unlike anything I had tasted before.
