Creamy Soursop, Turmeric & Hibiscus Wellness Smoothie

Hibiscus is powerful and concentrated, so brewing it correctly matters.

  1. Bring 1½ cups water to a boil.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons dried hibiscus petals.
  3. Turn off the heat.
  4. Let steep for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Strain out the petals.
  6. Cool completely.

You should now have a deep ruby-red tea with a tart floral aroma.

This infusion becomes the bright acidic backbone of the smoothie.

Step 2: Prepare the soursop

If using fresh soursop:

  1. Wash the fruit.
  2. Cut it in half.
  3. Scoop out the white flesh.
  4. Remove all black seeds carefully.
  5. Measure 2 cups pulp.

If using frozen pulp:

  • Thaw slightly before blending.

Soursop texture should be soft, creamy, and fragrant.

Step 3: Prepare turmeric

Fresh turmeric gives the best flavor.

  1. Peel lightly with a spoon.
  2. Grate finely.
  3. Measure 1 teaspoon.

If using powder:

  • Use ½ teaspoon.

Turmeric adds warmth, color, and subtle earthiness.

Step 4: Blend everything

Into your blender add:

  • Soursop pulp
  • Cooled hibiscus tea
  • Coconut water
  • Milk
  • Turmeric
  • Lime juice
  • Honey (optional)
  • Ginger (optional)
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Ice cubes

Blend for 60–90 seconds until completely smooth.

Texture should be creamy and velvety.

If too thick:

  • add more coconut water.

If too thin:

  • add banana or yogurt.

Step 5: Taste adjustment

Balance matters:

Too tart?

Add:

  • honey
  • banana
  • more milk

Too sweet?

Add:

  • more lime juice
  • a little extra hibiscus tea

Too earthy?

Add:

  • pineapple
  • vanilla
  • cinnamon

Add:

  • water or coconut water
