Brownie Protein Bites – A Deliciously Healthy Treat!
These brownie protein bites are the perfect combination of rich chocolate flavor and a boost of protein. They make for a great snack or post-workout treat!
Ingredients (makes about 12 bites):
1 cup almond flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup protein powder (chocolate or vanilla)
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
1/4 cup almond butter or peanut butter
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
Optional: chocolate chips or nuts for added texture
Instructions:
Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
Step 2: Combine the Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, mix together honey (or maple syrup), almond butter (or peanut butter), applesauce, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Step 3: Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
Step 4: Form the Bites
Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Step 5: Chill
Refrigerate the brownie bites for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
