For the Chicken:
- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or cooking spray (for spraying)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Fresh chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
For the Sesame Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (preferably low-sodium)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch (for thickening)
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon water (to dissolve cornstarch)
