Place a large skillet over medium-high heat (intensity: medium-high).
Add olive oil, followed by ground beef and chopped onions. Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking the beef into small crumbles until browned.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Season with:
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Italian seasoning
- Paprika
Stir in tomato paste and pizza sauce. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the mixture becomes thick and flavorful.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare Taco Shells for Air Frying
If using soft tortillas, lightly shape them into taco forms using a rack or folded foil.
Lightly spray or brush taco shells with oil for crispiness.
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Step 3: Pre-Crisp the Taco Shells
Place taco shells in the air fryer basket.
Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 3–4 minutes until slightly crisp but still flexible enough to fill.
This step ensures they hold the filling without becoming soggy.
Step 4: Assemble the Pizza Tacos
Carefully remove taco shells from the air fryer.
Fill each shell with:
- A spoonful of seasoned beef
- A layer of mozzarella cheese
- A layer of cheddar cheese
- 3–4 pepperoni slices per taco
Add extra toppings if desired.
Step 5: Air Fry the Loaded Tacos
Place assembled tacos back into the air fryer basket.
Cook at 360°F (182°C) for 5–7 minutes until:
- Cheese is melted and bubbly
- Pepperoni edges are slightly crispy
- Shells are golden and firm
Step 6: Final Touch & Serve
Remove tacos carefully using tongs.
Let them rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
